Public Works Notices

RECYCLING INFORMATION: Recycle pick up is every first and third Thursday. All items will be inspected for cleanliness. No black or white bags. CLEAR BAGS ONLY. Thank you for your cooperation.

Yard waste is picked up Monday's, from Erie Avenue to Montgomery Avenue Tuesday's from Montgomery Avenue to Susquehanna Avenue.

The recycling containers located at the Public Works Building on Delaware Avenue, will be locked and closed to the public every day, except Saturday mornings. The only time that residents may drop off recyclable items at the Public Works Department Building will be Saturday mornings, from 8AM until 12PM. This does not affect the Public Works Departments curb-side pickup of recyclable items. West Pittston Borough recycling bins are for the use of West Pittston residents only. The Public Works Department Building is monitored by cameras and anyone found leaving trash, large bulk items, such as lawn furniture, or any other non-recyclable items, will be in violation of West Pittston Borough Code.

Curbside collection of recyclables is the first and third Thursday of each month. The Public Works Department asks that residents place their recyclables in front of their homes Wednesday evening prior to recycling collection on Thursday morning. Placing the recyclables out in front of your home early will prevent the Public Works Department from missing the collection of your recyclables on that day.
